Your artwork is seamlessly transformed into high resolution Digital Ceramic Decals. Converted into ceramic colours, your designs can be closely matched to your original artwork.
Digital Ceramic Transfer Printing for your Business
The flexibility digital ceramic printing offers means we can offer small and large print runs with an infinite range of colour options but without the set up costs incurred with traditional screen print methods. This means we can deliver high volume print runs for commercial customers at pricing to suit smaller businesses.
Using custom built ICC profiles we colour match your artwork to create superior quality digital ceramic waterslide decals. Once fired the ceramic decals are permanently fused into the surface of glazed bone china, porcelain, ceramic, glass and enamel. Innovative print options include extra strong black transfers, white only print for dark glazes and standard low fire on-glaze and high temperature in-glaze transfers.

Decorating & Firing Tips
Having your own Digital Ceramic Printer gives you the freedom and flexibility to print your transfers effortlessly on demand. Following our simple decorating and firing tips you can create and apply your waterslide decals with ease.
Using our custom made ceramic profiles you can easily convert your images for print with no time consuming set up required. Print your image onto waterslide paper using patented ceramic toners and choose a covercoat option. Once the image has been coated, it is ready to be transferred onto ceramic.
Dip the decals into room temperature water immediately.
Place onto a sloping decorators tray so that any excess water can drain away (do not leave the decals floating in water).
Use a medium squeegee (kidney) to apply the decal to the dry ceramic piece at room temperature. Work from the middle to ensure all the water has been removed.
Wipe the surface to ensure it is dry.
It is best to allow the decorated piece to dry for 12 hours or ideally overnight in a warm environment at approx. 20-25°C before firing.
Digital decals have the same properties as conventional screen printed decals. However, if you are firing digital decals for the first time, then use these instructions as a guide.
The ceramic piece is fired from 620 - 840°C - depending on the colour and type of transfer you have.
Firing cycles should all be well ventilated.
Kiln cools naturally
Once fired and cooled your ceramics are ready and colours are UV resistant and the image is permanent.
Magenta Colour Set Transfers (820 – 840°C)
We would usually fire at 250°C per hour up to 840°C with a 15 minute soak.
Red Colour Set Transfers (780 – 800°C)
For red set colours also 250°C per hour up to 800°C with 25 minute soak
What is the difference between a new sheet and proof sheet?
A proof sheet is £25.00 inc VAT, for this cost Digital Ceramics will retain a printed copy of the transfer sheet for future orders to be matched to for colour consistency and you will receive a sheet. A new sheet is £15.80 inc VAT, you will receive a transfer sheet but we do not retain a copy. If a proof sheet is not ordered we cannot guarantee to match colours for future repeat orders.
Can you print white colour?
No, our decals are translucent. We print in a four colour process (CMYK) so any white areas in your artwork will be transparent.
Can I use ceramic transfers on glass?
Although the transfers are not designed for glass we have many customers who have had success with them. The transfers are not opaque so they will have a transparent finish. We would recommend you do your own trials on the glass first to see what works for you. We would also suggest using the red set of colours as they have a lower firing temperature.
What resolution does the artwork need to be?
Save your artwork at a minimum of 300dpi.
What file types do you accept?
We can accept most file formats, we recommend jpeg or pdf. If sending a pdf please make sure to embed the colour profile when saving the image. We advise that you save the image as a high resolution file of at least 300dpi.
What is the print area of the sheet?
The maximum print area of the sheet is 43 × 30cm, keep all artwork within this area to avoid anything getting accidently cropped.
The actual sheet size is 45 × 32cm.
What is your minimum order?
Orders sent via email have a minimum order value requirement of £100 (ex VAT)
New orders sent via the website shop have no minimum order value
